Sama Gaza was founded in memory of Sama, a six-year-old girl from Gaza who was severely injured by shrapnel during the 2014 war. She was brought to Jordan for treatment, and a group of us supported her stay in the hospital, spending months by her side. Sadly, Sama passed away that same year.
Out of her story, Sama Gaza was born — a grassroots initiative named in her honor, committed to supporting Palestinian refugees, especially in Jerash (Gaza) Camp in Jordan, where over 35,000 stateless refugees face systemic exclusion and hardship.
Today, we run a Cultural and Community Centre for children’s growth and self-expression, a Vocational Centre for youth and women’s empowerment, and humanitarian programs that provide seasonal aid, clothing, and education support. Everything we do is rooted in dignity, opportunity, and the belief that no one should be forgotten.
